Memphis Type Poster

Problem
This project had the interesting problem of trying to display the characters and personality of the Memphis typeface in an easily digestible format. The characters themselves could have been easily displayed with a generic sentence like “The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”, but that doesn’t necessarily covey the personality.
Solution
As a result, I ended up with the sort of lattice type pattern you can see in the background. My research found that Memphis can be used as a fairly modern looking type, as well being almost regal in some instances. It’s reminiscent of intricate metalwork, which conveys the type’s personality.
